On Tuesday, Oct.23, 2012, RU ASIS&T held its first meeting of the semester in the grad student lounge in the SC&I building. We had a great turn out! As the conference for ASIS&T will be held this weekend and early next week, students presenting were invited to present their research. It was a great way for presenters to get feedback on their presentations and other students to find out about research going on at Rutgers.

We heard about two projects by Vanessa Kitzie and Erik Choi:

  1. Developing a Typology of Online Q&A Models and Recommending the Right Model for Each Question type
  2. How Much Change Do You Get From $40?? Analyzing and Addressing Failed Questions on Social Q&A

If you are going to the conference be sure to catch their presentation on Sunday at 3:30. More information about their project can be found here!

We also heard from Kyong Eun Oh about her research: The Process of Organizing Personal Information. She is currently working on developing a model to explain how people organize their personal information. I’m sure future Rutgers students will be reading about her model during the PIM of Human Information Behavior! She will be presenting on Friday as part of a full-day workshop.
Good luck at ASIS&T!
