Presentations

MODULE A – COMPUTING AT SC&I via SlideShare.net

Designed to familiarize you with the basic computing tasks needed for a successful first semester at SC&I and beyond! Topics covered include establishing and using your EDEN e-mail accounts, subscribing to listservs, using the SC&I and Rutgers computer labs, transferring files via FTP and other tips and tricks from current SC&I student instructors.

MODULE B – RUTGERS LIBRARIES via SlideShare.net

Most classes require significant library research. This session will demonstrate how to use some of the resources available at the Rutgers University Libraries. We emphasize techniques for navigating the Rutgers library system in person and online, with hands-on practice for searching the library catalog, indexes and databases, and electronic journals. Get a head start on the material by exploring SearchPath, a tutorial sponsored by Rutgers Libraries at http://searchpath.libraries.rutgers.edu.
